Prof. Tahir is a 
specialist in Rheumatology, Sports Medicine, and General Medicine, and serves as a Consultant at the Royal Free London NHS Trust. He is actively engaged in cutting-edge research and the development of innovative treatments for arthritis.
He holds academic positions as Honorary Clinical Professor in the Division of Medicine at University College London and Vice Provost at New Anglia University.
He has been widely recognised for his contributions to healthcare, research, and education. His accolades include the Gold Standard NASS Change Maker Award, the BSR Best Practice Award for Emerging Best Practice, two prestigious NIHR PI Recognition Awards for Research, and the Barts Health Innovations Award for Service Improvement. Most recently, he was honoured at the RFL Oscars 2025, receiving runner-up for Outstanding Contribution to Research and Outstanding Contribution to Education, further highlighting his dedication to advancing both clinical practice and learning.
